It's the Gold Standard to Measure all Paddles Robert Passarella Intermediate

Pros: I got a chance to play with this paddle for a night of mixed match play. I was using the 16mm version. I can see why so many people love it. The weight is fine. I found I could get to lots of shots in the volley area. What sets this paddle apart from the rest is the touch. You can place shots pretty easily. If you're a beginner that is progressing nicely - this should be your go to paddle as you develop your game.

Cons: I really can't think of any. I wish it was a bit cheaper but then again, priced at $99 it's a value. Recently the 16mm has been in high demand and sold out. I haven't tried the 13mm but I suspect it's good as well.

Amazing Paddle Peter Intermediate

Pros: The spin you can create on this paddle is no joke. I was able to put tons of top spins on the ball without losing control over it. The grip length is perfect for someone that switch over from tennis. Although one of the two paddles I ordered came with a broken handle, it's a great paddle with good durability overall.

Cons: One of the two paddles I ordered came broken towards the end. But this could be a factory defects that was not caught before shipping out.

Do most 4.0 players prefer the 13 or 16mm thickness?
Benny Bowers
What core thickness an individual player uses is going to be purely personal preference. There are plenty of 4.0 and above players that would use both a 13MM or a 16MM thick core. I would recommend trying both styles out and seeing what fits your game the best. The Franklin Ben Johns Signature Middleweight Composite Pickleball Paddle features a 13MM core.

Franklin Sports got its start in 1946 as a regional brand of sporting goods products. Irving H. Franklin, who co-founded Franklin Sports with his brother Sydney Franklin, brought the innovative idea of centering a complete line of products on a single athlete - Joe Namath. Over the years Franklin has affiliated with the best in sports, including world-class athletes like Sugar Ray Leonard, David Robinson, and Barry Bonds.

The breakthrough for Franklin and the batting gloves came when Phillies Hall of Fame third baseman Mike Schmidt and Irving Franklin teamed up to create the basic design that is still the preferred glove of most major league hitters. Irving Franklin went to Clearwater, Florida, to meet with Schmidt during spring training in 1983. Together, they worked tirelessly to make sure that the materials and design were perfected, so collaboratively the two were the first authors. At that time, most players wore no gloves. A few wore a single golf style glove, but no company offered a product specifically designed for the needs of professional players. Franklin today is the industry leader as the premier batting glove company, and custom fits batting glove for MLB players.

In 1982, when Franklin signed Mike Schmidt, Irving Franklin asked: "How can I get the name Franklin on field at the Major League level?" Schmidt suggested putting the name on the back to maximize exposure, and then helped to design the glove for lasting success at the major league level.
