Oneshot Aero Infinityshot Pickleball Paddle Review

Oneshot Aero Infinityshot Pickleball Paddle Review

Oneshot has been known to push the envelope, developing pickleball paddles that maximize swing speed, and maneuverability, and create quite the buzz around courts with their unique designs. The latest release since the Flipshot, the Aero Infinityshot continues to implement its popular Airflow Technology, sports a graphite hitting surface, poly core, and weighs in around 8.1 oz on average.

The first thing you’ll notice when you grab the Infinityshot is the flared handle, which fits perfectly in the palm of your hand. As more and more tennis players continue to join Team Pickleball, gone are the days where 7.6-7.7 oz is the most popular paddle weight., Oneshot has taken notice of the evolution of paddle weight and the Infinityshot tips the scales at an average of over 8.0 oz. Breaking away from the carbon fiber trend of 2023, this paddle’s graphite-hitting surface plays soft, quiet, and controlled, and has as much texture as any paddle on the market. No surprise in the polymer honeycomb core which allows you to dink your day away under the sun.

What Type of Player Should Use the Oneshot Aero Infinityshot?

The Infinityshot, even given its unique design, is a universal paddle that most will find a friend in. The elongated shape yields extra power and reach, two highly sought-after characteristics for pickleball players. If control is your goal, this is a great option because of the average weight and the graphite hitting surface, which is softer and helps paint lines with pinpoint accuracy. Although you can juice the ball when you need to, if you’re a pure power player, there might be a better fit in the Oneshot line than the Infinityshot.

Paddle Expert’s Thoughts on the Infinityshot

Oneshot paddles are always a fun playtest because you know nothing will be inside the box. I was more excited to play with the Infinityshot than I’ve been for any Oneshot paddle, which is saying a lot. The elongated, sleek design with the addition of the Airflow Technology felt like it was going to be a win, win, win, win!

Even before I took it on the court, I noticed that the 4 ¼” grip with the flared handle fits so nicely in your hand. Grip size and shape are such an undervalued characteristic of a paddle in my opinion and this combo stood out. Weight? Really nice. Coming from a racquet sport where the racquets were lighter than pickleball paddles, 8.0 oz is usually the heaviest I like to go before I feel like it’s not doing my specific game any benefits. The weight was enough to drive through the ball on mis-hits, but remain maneuverable at the net. I couldn’t physically feel the benefits of the Airflow Tech, but when there are long, thin, oval-shaped holes in the paddle, it has to help with swing speed and maneuverability. It was definitely a highly controlled paddle but had enough whip to snap the ball, which for my game, is more important than pure power. Overall, it lived up to the high expectations I had. Sleek, quick, controlled, comfortable, soft, with enough power. I would highly recommend it!

 Pros

  • The textured surface offers a ton of long-lasting spin.
  • Highly controlled. I haven’t hit a graphite paddle in a long time, but I was reminded of how soft and controlled it was.
  • The perfect balance of maneuverability and stability.

Cons

  • Not the most powerful paddle if you’re shopping purely for power.
