Description

adidas Metalbone Carbon Fiber Pickleball Paddle

The Metalbone is the first of its kind. Donning adjustable weights, this pickleball paddle allows players a fully customizable experience on the weight and balance of their paddle. It’s unique construction using a PMI Foam core and an extra rigid, 13mm frame brings out elite power and accuracy with every hit. It has an elongated handle at 5 1/2 inches, perfect for two handed players and greater control. The paddle’s face is layered in C18 Carbon Fiber with the adidas’ Spin Blade MAX grit offering great spin and control. The Metalbone’s sleek design and edgeless face is sure to turn heads at any time you play.

Paddle Benefits

The 13mm (0.51") thick PMI structural foam core. A unique core skips the polypropylene and instead creates a structure with PMI foam. Often used in aerospace applications, this closed-cell foam is extremely rigid and lightweight, allowing it to return ample energy to the ball for impressive power in high-energy shots. Second, is adidas' Weight & Balance System which allows the players to customize the static weight, swing weight, twist weight, and balance point of the paddle; adapted from adidas' Padel technology, and a first from any major pickleball manufacturer! Consisting of 4 screws, each weighing 2.6 grams (10.4g total), and removable with the included hex key (allen key-tipped keychain) this system allows you to add or remove up to 0.367 ounces from the neck area of the paddle where most players put lead tape anyway. Leaving the screws in shifts the balance point closer to the hand, resulting in better control and a maneuverable head-light feel. Removing the screws shifts the balance point further away from the hand, resulting in more power-oriented performance. Make it your own paddle with permanent weight to ensure a perfect feel. Structural reinforcement is provided by perimeter carbon, extending from the end of the handle up the sides of the paddle, creating tortional stability and resulting in an aerodynamic edgeless design. The face of the Metalbone Pickleball Paddle is comprised of C18 Carbon Fiber treated with adidas' Spin Blade Max surface texturing, resulting in a paddle that is forgiving of off-center strikes, and promotes fantastic spin on your cuts, slices, and topspin drives. The elongated shape makes it great for all singles and doubles matches and gives you the perfect amount of power need to power your competiton.

Not made for new players. Brian Phet Intermediate

I’ve tried Joola and Gearbox. Chose Metalbone K Hollis Intermediate

Pros: Power is true and not exaggerated or highly variable based on sweet spot. Pain is fairly constant and less grippy so spin is more controllable. And I personally love the sound. Have only been playing 5 months but already winning tournaments with mine.

Cons: Edges are a little dead.

3.75 Player Rating Michael Imperiali Intermediate

Pros: 13mm allows me to have more touch and feel when dinking into kitchen. I also generate a ton of power for my drives. I was playing with a 19mm paddle before as I’m fairly new to pickleball. I have been winning a ton more points with my Adidas Metalbone. I leave all weight in.

Cons: Bought edge guard as I noticed edges getting a little rough.
