Description

Gearbox CX14H Middleweight Carbon Fiber Pickleball Paddle

Welcome the CX14 to the luxury line of pickleball paddles! Gearbox has done it again, this time with the CX14. Delivering an unmatched premium feel, updated spin technology, larger sweet spot, and improved feel of the face of the pickleball paddle. 3K Woven Fiber paired with the T-700 Carbon Fiber ribbed core enhances the Hyper Bite Spin Technology patented by Gearbox. As Gearbox continues to push innovation within pickleball, gone are the days of adding grit to enhance a player's spin. The elongated handle with the Quad shape gives a player a longer lever for a unique play style. Giving a player a lightweight feel but with the control of a thicker core paddle. Gearbox takes paddles to the next level by starting their spin technology from the core! The CX14 will give a player maximum bite on the ball, throughout the swing, accelerating the spin velocity of the pickleball. CX14 will have an edgeless design, reinforced 3K with special attention to the corners of the paddle creating an enlarged sweet spot. Gearbox coined the CX14 with the Feel So Good Technology! Utilizing Gearbox's thin 14mm aerodynamic core gives a player increased paddle control, speed, and ball placement. Get the Feel So Good feeling in your hand with the Gearbox CX14H Middleweight Carbon Fiber Pickleball Paddle today at JustPaddles!

Definitely seems helpful to my game... Linda Intermediate

Pros: Just finished playing out a week with the CX14H ...so far I am loving it. Love the feel in my hand.. nice smooth, rounded grip. The weight seems good. Not too light, not too heavy. Feel like my shots at the net are improving and being a placement type of player I'm finding more accuracy in those placement shots I'm making.

Cons: The only negatives I'm finding so far are that I probably should have went with the standard vs thin grip, especially since the standard on Gearbox paddles is already thinner than most other paddles. Also I do feel there's not as much power in my overhead shots. I felt my overhead shots didn't seem to have as much 'oomph' or speed on them as I have when playing with my lighter weight, graphite Gamma Hellbender paddle. I found I mis-hit quite a few overhead shots... just tipping off the edge or I guess I'm missing that 'sweet spot'. Hopefully that's just me needing to adjust to a new/different type paddle.

Pleasantly surprised Craig Plante Intermediate

Pros: I have more pop than I did with my Selkirk, without giving up any touch. I tried the power and control models, but found the CX14 a great blend. I also get a lot more spin outdoors. A lot!!

Cons: The grip is just so so. It’s pretty thin and I can feel the wood under it. I put a better one on my paddle and it corrected the issue.

Amazing Control Paddle Dave Genet Intermediate

Pros: I used a ProKennex paddle prior for my tennis elbow. I actually liked that paddle (played with Ovation Flight and Ovation Speed paddles) but I really liked the touch of other paddles. However, the vibration and/or head weight caused my elbow issues. What I like about the CX14H is the light feel and vibration damping + the soft feel for touch play. For me this paddle is just right after trying a number of paddles.

Cons: I can see it may not be a durable on the edges as the Prokennex. No worries, I bought some edge tape to help. Also, it just doesn't have the same power no doubt. But it has enough and I play more of a touch game and frankly, placing a shot with a bit less power is more effective for me.

Great paddle technology Fritz Coscolluela Intermediate

Pros: Definitely softest paddle I’ve ever played with. Love the handle shape. On the skinny side but perfect when added an overgrip. Drops and dinks were amazing.

Cons: Lacks pop and finishing power.

Gearbox CX14H Stacy Intermediate

Pros: Nice sweet spot, good control, nice sweet spot

Cons: Not enough power. I wanted to try out a paddle with a wider sweet spot and elongated handle, however I prefer the elongated paddle as well.

Does the perfect paddle exist Shawn Outlaw Intermediate

Pros: Excellent craftmanship, lightweight, clean looks, great spin, control.

Cons: NEEDS POWER. One of the downsides to control and keeping it in is lack of power. Overhead shots are returnable which is frustrating. If they could just figure out a way to give this excellent control and spin power it would be perfect.

Does the construction of the CX14 paddles really maker then significantly more durable than honeycomb core paddles? For a beginner is the CX14H likely to be easier to hit than the CX14E due to the larger versus more compact sweet spot? What about the concern that with a maximum handle circumference of 3 15/16 the CX14 paddles will require too many overgrips to fit players with large hands? Thank you. Republius
The core construction of the CX14 is more known for the larger sweet spot compared to honeycomb core paddles. The durability of each should be similar. For beginers, the benefits could go either way. The CX14H provides an easier to control paddle with a large sweet spot, but the CX14E will provide a larger surface to reach with. Either would be great options for beginers, it just depends what they feel most compfortable with. At this time, we have not had any complaints or issues with the circumference of the handle.
Leeah
Does the CX14 offer different handle length? Vince
The Gearbox CX14H Middleweight Carbon Fiber Pickleball Paddle only comes with a 5 5/8" handle length.
Cameron
Is this the new (grittier) version or the original version? Kay Bryan
