Great paddle! AD Intermediate

Pros: The paddle feels great! The handle is a little longer than I am used to and it felt awesome!

Cons: Not a real con, but the shape is just slightly different than the paddle I am used to

Of Course its amazing Owen Intermediate

Pros: I fully expected the paddle to be top-notch with the number 1 player's name attached to it, and it did not disappoint. It has great grit on the paddle face, and the power I can generate is spectacular.

Cons: Maybe it is the aero curve design, but first few times playing with it it fell narrow compared to some other elongated paddles. I have gotten used to it now though.

Stunned! KG Intermediate

Pros: I was surprised how much power the paddle has. Drives are consistent and my serves have been more effective. It has a gritty texture on the face compared to a CRBN and Electrum E. Spin and control were very much so present in my shots. No issues dinking. Great paddle overall by Joola.

Cons: The sweet spot is a bit small but I am used to the Electrum E that is a bit longer. Grip is just average for my liking.

Ben Johns Joola Paddle Josh Pickett Intermediate

Pros: I personally think this is the most versatile paddle on the market right now. Great sweet spot and that’s somebody who’s been playing with the electrum e. Where this paddle really stands out for me though is the power and the spin. You won’t find another 16 mm paddle with this much power.

Cons: The only con I can give it is that there will be an adjustment period for most people trying to get used to the hyper foam edge walls and the aero curve technology. And it reminds to be seen how durable this paddle will be.

Great paddle Jack H Intermediate

Pros: Great paddle with some potentially interesting innovations in terms of improving non-centered hits with the 'foam' injection. That being said, the biggest thing you'll notice isn't actually unique to this paddle: a carbon fiber woven paddle surface will completely change your game. This surface is used by practically all high-end paddles and is now increasingly found in less expensive options.

Cons: Like all high-end paddles, the material costs are next to nothing and you are really paying for the supposed 'innovations'. The market is what it is, but aside from what we are willing to pay to be at the cutting edge of paddle development, there is no reason why this (or almost any) pickleball paddle should cost >$100.

Great paddle if you are a compatible player Mayco Bratzoon Intermediate

Pros: i just started paying the sport 1 year ago. i tested 5 different paddles and brands from a local tennis store . i have to tell you that Joola really has their technology together coming out right of the gate from a Ping Pong paddle industry . they really kmow what their designing. the 16mm Hyperion Ben Johns is a amazing paddle that blew away the other ones i tested. i'm 47 years old , 195 lbs 6.0" feet , super Athletic and i play very competitive so this review can help more someone that can relate to my characteristic and style of playing . - Amazing on spins , kitchen and any long shots - 16mm more meat for the high ball kills - Grip and handle are both great - i added a over grip from wilson ( sticky grip for sweat) - Very light paddle unless you add LED tape and over grip - great on controlling the game

Cons: - serves seems to be a little long for me since my serves are super fast and long ( i tried the Joola 14mm Simone Jardim and i get 80% of my serves in . so on my serves i have better control with a 14 mm . this is really the only Con i can find in this paddle i will try the new Ben Johns Scorpeus paddle soon and let you all know what i think

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the JOOLA Ben Johns Hyperion CFS 16mm Heavyweight Carbon Fiber Pickleball Paddle? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

According to your information, the paddle weight range is 8.2-8.5 ounces. I am looking for the paddle weight to be on the lighter side and as close to 8.2 ounces as possible. Can your company contact me to get my approval of the paddle weight they found before the paddle gets shipped to me? Do I have to purchase the paddle to make my request? How do I make my request? Douglas Suzuki
Unfortunately, there is not a way to request a certain weight on the JOOLA Ben Johns Hyperion CFS 16mm Heavyweight Carbon Fiber Pickleball Paddle. When an order is placed for one of these JOOLA Ben Johns Hyperion CFS 16mm Heavyweight Carbon Fiber Pickleball Paddle models, one is grabbed at random from shipping.

I have just ordered the Hyperion CFS 16mm. I can’t wait to receive it. My question is this, why does Ben put lead tape on the lower edge of his paddle? If that’s what he likes, why didn’t he design the Hyperion that way? Jim Cline
Adding lead tape in the lower portion of the paddle can help with stability and hand speed, and decrease vibration. As for why this is not done on the JOOLA Ben Johns Hyperion CFS 16mm Heavyweight Carbon Fiber Pickleball Paddle, the main reason why the paddle is not set up that way from the factory is that is not going to be suitable for the mass market. Adding lead tape makes the paddle heavier, and while the Hyperion is already on the heavier side of paddles, the additional lead tape will simply make it difficult for some players to swing consistently, and avoid arm strains.
Cameron
What’s the difference between this paddle and Simone’s paddle? Is it just that hers is 7.7 ounces and his is 8.2 to 8.5 ounces? Denise Riley
The difference between the JOOLA Simone Jardim Hyperion CFS 16mm Heavyweight Carbon Fiber Pickleball Paddle and the JOOLA Ben Johns Hyperion CFS 16mm Heavyweight Carbon Fiber Pickleball Paddle would be slight weight difference.

About the Brand

JOOLA has dominated the professional table tennis scene in the United States for over 10 years. Partnering with North American Table Tennis (NATT) early on, JOOLA established a strong presence through the North American Tour and NATT‘s flagship event, the North American Teams Championships. Each event in the Tour generally drew in 200 to 300 participants and showcased about 30 JOOLA tables, while the Teams event exposed the brand to nearly 1000 players, who competed on about 150 JOOLA tables. With each successful event, JOOLA grew its fan base and eventually became the most visible table tennis brand in US table tennis.

Beginning in 2012, JOOLA officially began a partnership with USA Table Tennis (USATT), the national governing body for table tennis. Through this agreement JOOLA became the Official Table Sponsor of USATT Tournaments, including the US Open and US National Championships. Held annually during the winter, the US Open attracts international players from all over the world, while the US National Championships is always filled with top US players competing for US titles every summer. Both competitions are major table tennis events in the US and are the association’s two largest gatherings of the sport’s enthusiasts nationwide. Both USATT and JOOLA are genuinely excited about this partnership and hope to further drive table tennis development in the US for generations to come!

In 2019, Sport Squad, Inc., the US-based distributor and licensee of JOOLA for the North American and Brazilian market., announced its acquisition of JOOLA Tischtennis GmbH. Established in 2006 and based in Rockville, MD, Sport Squad, Inc. was founded by Richard Lee out of a love for table tennis. Sport Squad eventually expanded to include 4 different brands dedicated to offering interactive and immersive games and gaming equipment. It is the parent company to JOOLA, iPong, Sport Squad, and Hit Mit. To learn more about Sport Squad, Inc., check out Sport Squad’s website.

With a renewed energy, the JOOLA logo was redesigned and released in 2020 to reflect JOOLA’s continued commitment to excellence. The new stylized J symbolizes a new era and the 3 pillars of the brand as JOOLA strives to take table tennis into the future.
