Diadem Warrior Pickleball Paddle Review
The “Newcomer” - Diadem Warrior V2 Paddle
The latest addition to the ever-popular Warrior Series is the Warrior V2, or the second generation of the Warrior. It brings new technology and a fresh look to one of Diadem’s best-selling paddles. The most visible difference from the original, aside from the new electric cosmetic look, is the sleek edgeless construction, designed to eliminate drag and create a more maneuverable version without losing stability. A new, raw carbon fiber face with added grit provides long-lasting spin and pinpoint accuracy. Lastly, weighing in an average of ¼ oz lighter than the original brings more shifty-ness but remains sturdy enough to plow through mis hits and long groundstrokes.
Who should play with the Warrior V2?
We recommend the Warrior V2 to the all-around player that likes a heavier-weighted paddle. Powerful, touch-friendly with ample feel, the upgrades in the new V2 make it a perfect overall paddle focused equally on all play styles.
Diadem Warrior V2 Features
- Paddle Weight: 8.25 oz
- Paddle Face: Etched Carbon Fiber
- Paddle Core: 3X - L Core with Polypropylene + Aramid honeycomb
- Paddle Length: 16.4”
- Core Thickness: 19 mm
The “Original” Diadem Warrior Pickleball Paddle
At 19 mm thick, the original Diadem Warrior made its mark on the pickleball community as the thickest option out of all the Diadem’s pickleball paddle, and that still remains the same today. Well, technically, it's tied with the Warrior V2 now! Known as the ultimate control and touch paddle, the thick core alongside the carbon fiber face, poly core, and 8.5 oz weight work together to provide ultimate stability, control, and a pure touch. Who should play with the OG Warrior?
We recommend the Warrior to a player that likes a heavyweight paddle that’s designed to control the pace of rallies rather than trying to overpower opponents. Are you a control player that likes to play chess near the kitchen or a former tennis player looking for a new paddle? The original Warrior is a great paddle option for you!
Diadem Warrior Features
- Paddle Weight: 8.5 oz
- Core Thickness: 19 mm
- Paddle Face Material: Carbon Fiber with a Grit Paint Surface
- Paddle Core Material: 3X - L Core with Polypropylene Honeycomb, and introduces the Aramid Honeycomb for power
The Warrior Edge was a fantastic release filling a gap that the original Warrior and the Warrior V2 couldn’t fill. Unlike the Warrior or the Warrior V2, the Warrior Edge features a more universal 16 mm thickness and weighs in at a popular 8.0 oz. The paddle fits a different purpose than its predecessor Warrior sibling - it’s constructed to be more universal, more aerodynamic, and maneuverable, and it has a lighter swing speed to generate more paddle speed.
Who should use the Warrior Edge?
We’d recommend the Warrior Edge to the majority of players due to its versatility. Whether you like to drive the ball, or play more of a controlled style, everything about the Warrior Edge screams pickleball and can fit a wide range of play styles.
